Theft & Robbery Offences
The terms ‘Theft’ and ‘Robbery’ are used to refer to the same thing, however, for the purposes of the Judicial system, they are quite distinct, and carry significantly different penalties.
‘Theft’ or ‘Stealing’ is usually referred to the offence of Larceny. This is an offence where a person takes the property that belongs to another person.
Robbery is an offence which is more serious, and involves the taking of the property from the person’s physical and personal possession. There is an element of intent to impose force and cause fear to the victim during the commission of the offence.
If you have been charged with any of these offences, you will need to obtain expert legal advice as a matter of urgency. It is highly recommended that you approach a legal firm that has a stable understanding of the intricacies of such charges, including access to expert witnesses and Counsel qualified to run complex robbery trials.

Our solicitors have vast experience in the negotiation process with the Prosecution and the Officers in Charge from the relevant Police Stations. Our Defence Team will guide you throughout the entire process in preparation for a guilty plea, whereby appropriate medical and reference documentation may be used in support of your character, to show to the Court an expressed contrition and remorse for the act committed. As a result, you may become entitled to an appropriate discount on sentencing for a more favourable outcome.
